We decided to travel to Santee National Wildlife Refuge to view the 2017 eclipse. It's a beautiful location and was a wonderful setting to view the event of a lifetime. The visitor's center is great: lots of interesting educational displays, clean and well-organized, and the staff were very helpful. The facility handled all the eclipse viewing traffic extremely well. We would love to visit again when the weather cools a bit and we can take our time to explore the various locations and trails.
My husband and I had never been to this park before and had always wanted to go and saw they were open for the eclipse. The staff was amazing and handled the traffic and questions and were so gracious to each guest. I would like to thank them for really making the eclipse even a more memorable experience and will be back again!!!
Saw the eclipse of 2017 here. Great park with friendly staff and rangers. I definitely need to go back again.

Drove here to go birdwatching on Aug 21. It was a bit warm so to cool things down the park rangers flew a giant disk in front of the sun, great customer service!
