I would never stay at this site again and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations.
OH my dear lord, its 2017 and Racism IS RUNNING WILD AT CAROLINA KING.my wife and i spent a week there recently and the worst vacation ever all that money we spent and were treated like we were not suppose to be there the people didn't speak i say good morning looked me right in my eyes and turned his head. and that red neck owner was trying to find something wrong the whole time always had something nasty to say the women in the office was nice, i have to say that but we will never i mean never go back there again!!! enter it your own risk oh and one more thing the cabins are not worth the money only clean on the surface dishwasher bolted up.dust and dirt in a cabin that was just cleaned REALLY
well after booking the cabin and reading all the negative reviews I was concerned about our up coming trip. I think maybe people are expecting a resort with pools, hot tubs and first class accommodations and that is not what this place is, but that being said. It is a great little fish camp and I would not want to change a thing. your cabin was clean and supplied very well, the only problem we had was when we first got to the cabin the refrigerator was not working but a call to the office and a maintenance man came very quickly and solved the problem and it was cold all weekend as well as the air. we had a great time there all weekend caught a few fish of the piers , we hired a fishing guide which was recommended by the marina. he was very professional and had a nice boat perfectly set up for a good day of fishing. we caught a few catfish that day but wish we could have caught a few more but that's fishing. I never met the man who owns the place but I was in the store one afternoon when some man staying there came in a he was really pissed at the owner about something that had happen that day but our group never had any contact with him , the only person we talked to was the girl who checked us in and out and she was very friendly and made our stay pleasant. we also got back our security deposit in about a week so some people do get it back. I would have no problem recommending this place to someone who is looking for a nice clean little fishing camp. I will be back again someday maybe next time rent a pontoon boat??

We had an amazing time here this paat weekend!! The grounds were clean and quiet, the cabin was absolutely beautiful and perfect for us! Talked to the locals and found out about a good little fishing spot and the office staff was pleasant and helpful. We can't wait to visit you all again soon! Only being an hour from Charleston was a plus too for a day/evening trip!
Additionally, be prepared to be nickle and dimed for every possible fee/cost. Be careful to confirm that your deposits are actually refunded.
The lake is beautiful, the grounds were relatively well maintained, and the front office staff were fine despite being disorganized. Our experience was marred by the disconcertingly hostile response to basic customer service requests related to our stay. I felt unconformable and offended with the interactions I had with one particular staff member after requesting reasonable remediation for a number of issues with our group's cabins. For example, our request for a staff member to address issues with swarming hornets was met with contempt and disturbing language about the staff member's dislike for "city folk." Further, this particular staff member noted that they would keep a close watch over our group regarding their property rules due to our group's demographics. This made me and others in our group feel very uncomfortable as I felt like we were being profiled. I was disappointed and felt insulted after my stay at this property.
Would not recomment to long time stayers. Acs kept goin out maintence was low key washers broke and the owner harrasses you about every little thing like how much my 2 year old son talks :( not a people friendly place and our cabin was trashed before we even moved into it. Beer bottles everywhere and bags of chew stuffed under the bed along with shoes from the previous stayers. Will never stay here again
